Children’s events at Zarrow

Tomorrow morning is preschool storytime at Zarrow Regional Library. Children ages 4 and younger can come to the library, 2224 W. 51st St., at 11 a.m. tomorrow (Wednesday) to hear a story.

On Saturday, the library will host PAWS for Reading from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. First- through fourth-graders can come to the library to practice their reading skills by reading aloud to a service dog. Participants will receive a free book provided by a family literacy grant from Target Corporation. Preregistration is required. Call 591-4366 to register or to learn more.

Let’s go fly a kite

Just a couple of blocks from the RedFork Main Street corridor, Reed Park Community Center is offering children ages 5 to 12 a chance to go fly a kite. Children will decorate their own kites and fly them during the class, which will meet from 4 to 5 p.m. Monday, April 7. Cost is $5. Participants must preregister by Tuesday, April 1.

Also, this Thursday, March 27, is the deadline to preregister for Reed Park’s “Get Out! Outdoor Skills for Kids!” The class, which meets from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Thursdays from April 3 to April 24, will teach outdoor skills to kids ages 8 to 15. Kids will learn about camping, hiking, fishing and archery. Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather. Cost for the class is $20 and must be paid at the time of registration.
